La Trochita: The Old Patagonian Express
Running since 1945, this steam train crosses the steppe between Esquel and El Maitén. Made world-famous by Paul Theroux, it's one of the most scenic train rides on earth.

Summer (Dec–Mar) for trekking and Los Alerces. Winter (Jun–Sep) for skiing at Cerro La Hoya.
